This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly round-up a number of bloggers in which I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I finished Places and Names by Elliot Ackerman. I listened to this as an audiobook, and I fear this might have taken away from it a bit, even though the author tells his story himself I just didn't feel he was the best narrator and the stories he tells, while interesting, felt a little disjointed. That being said, he does offer a glimpse of places in which people contend with war and conflict and he evaluates, to some extent, the role of journalists, soldiers and the powers that be withing these places.

NOW: Currently, I am reading The Holdout by Graham Moore. I only just started, so I can't say much about it yet, though the premise is quite interesting and Moore has an easy writing style, which I am enjoying so far.

NEXT: I am curious about Nothing More Dangerous by Allen Eskens. It only recently caught my attention, but sounds worth reading and reminiscent of Wiliam Kent Krueger's books, which I have enjoyed in the past. Have you read it? What did you think?
