This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly round-up hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I finished Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. It was a bit of a departure for me, but a surprisingly entertaining look at how Nike was started and the obstacles the founders faced. You can find my full review here.

NOW: Currently, I am reading Malcolm X by Manning Marable. Quite different from Shoe Dog, this is also a bit unusual for me, though also fascinating. It's slightly daunting in length, but so far, not boring at all. I realize I actually knew very little about Malcolm X, especially his youth and how he came for the opinions and ideologies for which he is both revered and reviled.

NEXT: I think after Malcolm X, I will be in the mood for something a little lighter, at the same time, I've been hearing a lot about American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins, both good and bad. Are you going to read it? I'm intrigued...
