This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly round-up hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I finished This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger, which was good, but not as brilliant as I had expected, given the reviews and hype surrounding the book. All the same, a worthwhile read. You can find my full review here.

NOW: I am about halfway through Shalini Boland's The Other Daughter and enjoying it so far. She has a way of creating characters that seem very real Yes, there is a formula of sorts to her books, but they are still entertaining and often offer many twists and turns I don't expect. If you like Lisa Jewel or Liane Moriarty, you might want to give her a try, too.

NEXT: I think I will read The Old Ways by Robert Macfarlane next. It sounds charming and a little sedate and I am curious to read something by an author I have heard a lot about. He also wrote Underland, which received a lot of attention last year (2019 is last year?!?) and I am curious about that one, too. Have you read it? What did you think?
