This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly round-up in which I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days? Stay safe!

THEN: I finished Jill Leovy's book Ghettoside, which examines crime in LA. It was a really engaging, though difficult read and one I would definitely recommend. You can read my review here.

NOW: I finally started Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. It starts off very sad, and reminds me a little of William Kent Krueger's This Tender Land. I'm not far in, so I am curious to see how the story develops. Have you read it? What did you think?

NEXT: I feel very indecisive about what to read these days. On the one hand, I want something light and entertaining, but I can't seem to concentrate on books like that at all, so I end up picking up something dark and vaguely (or very) depressing instead. Which is why I might give Country by Michael Hughes a try...
