Mini Review: Razorblade Tears by S.A. Crosby

4****
I was a little wary about starting Razorblade Tears, because I felt I had only read rave reviews and was worried my expectations would be too high. In some ways, maybe this ended up being true, but I can also truly see what all the fuss is about. The writing is excellent and the story feels timely, emotional and thought-provoking, and is told in a way that instantly pulls you in. My small issue with it was that there are so many scenes of very descriptive violence, which I sometimes felt went overboard, but that's just a personal gripe. I also guessed who the villain was well in advance, though this didn't take away from my appreciation of the book as a whole. All in all, quite a memorable read, and I'm exited to finally start S.A. Crosby's much-lauded Blacktop Wasteland soon!
