Mini Review: Oh William! by Elizabeth Strout

4****
This was a quick yet thoughtful read, very much in the style of Strout's previous book, My Name Is Lucy Barton. Strout is able to craft a story that entertains, even as not all that much really happens. Her books are introspective and very character-driven, which I enjoy, slowly peeling back the layers. My only quibble is that the characters apart from Lucy, do not feel as fleshed out as they could be is the book had been a little longer. This way, it felt more like a short story or a novella, that gave the reader a few moments, insightful glimpses, yet not the full picture. But something tells me, that may have been the point. I look forward to reading the newest book in this series very soon!
