Mini Review: My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing

3***
The best way I can describe this book it to say, it was perfectly okay. The plot was entertaining enough, the characters engaging, though at times quite cliched. I liked the cat and mouse aspect of ti, which kept me on my toes, but cannot say any character is remotely likable. That may be the reason why I never felt fully gripped and already know this one will fade quickly in my memory. That is not to say I wouldn't read anything else by the author, but I probably would rush to either. I read so much crime fiction that, to be honest, it now takes something really creative to really capture my attention. Perhaps that means I should take a break from the genre, but when you do come across a really clever mystery, it can be the most satisfying read!
