Mini Review: Know My Name by Chanel Miller

4****

I borrowed Know My Name from the library of three separate occasions, returning it twice unread, always favoring fictional crime novels, in which the ending tied up loose ends, the villain was caught and punished. Despite the glowing reviews, I was aware Know My Name would be a difficult read, and I was hesitant to open it up. I am glad I finally did, however. It is a moving, memorable and honest account of Miller's experience and one many women will sadly identify with. She is eloquent and introspective, and you cannot help but feel moved by her story and angry that she had to live it at all. It was, at times, a bit too repetitive and drawn out (perhaps this felt more so because I listened to the audiobook version), but apart from that, it was a remarkable book and one I know I won't forget.
