Mini Review: Grief is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter

This was an unusual little book, and while I wanted to love it as so many other readers did, something kept me from connecting with it. Parts were very poignant and sad, but others felt too disjointed. The Crow passages didn't work very well for me, unfortunately. I liked the idea of the book, the execution just wasn't quite what I hoped for. Reading this, I had to think of A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, which deals with similar subject in a creative way, and though I read it years ago, still lingers in my mind, which I'm afraid probably won't be the case with Grief is the Thing with Feathers.
