This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly round-up hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I finished James Brabazon's My Friend the Mercenary. It was very engaging, even if Brabazon irritated me at times. He does not gloss over ugliness, which, at times, makes the book difficult to read. Still, I found it to be quite worthwhile and if you have read anything by Levison Wood, I think this could appeal to you as well.

NOW: Currently, I am reading Into Thin Air by John Krakauer. I've read a number of his books and always found them quite fascinating. So far, this one is no exception. He chronicles an attempt to climb Mt. Everest in 1996, and you can imagine, it does not go smoothly.

NEXT: Maybe I will finally read The Chestnut Man by Søren Sveistrup. I've had a copy for a while, but it's a bit of a door-stopper and though it has intrigued be since I first read about it, I haven't taken the plunge just yet. have you read it? What did you think?
