This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly round-up hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I finished Sailing Alone Around the Room by Billy Collins. I don't read a lot of poetry, but he is one of my favorite writers in that medium, and I find his work to be funny, wry, moving and beautifully understated. Recommended!

NOW: I am finally reading Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh. I've had a copy for quite some time, but wasn't sure it could be read as a standalone, because it's number four in the Eddie Flynn series. So far, I rather like it. It's fast paced and cleverly plotted.

NEXT: I think I might read Brothers of the Gun: A Memoir of the Syrian War by Marwan Hisham next. I'm really jumping around from one genre to the next, but this one caught my eye a while ago, and I am curious, if slightly apprehensive, to finally read it.
