Mini Reviews: In the Morning I'll Be Gone and Poems that Make Grown Women Cry

This is probably my favorite book in the Sean Duffy series so far. Sean is a liability, but I have grown quite fond of him. The story was fast-paced and well plotted and the writing engaging. The best part of this series, however, is McKinty's ability to make his characters seem very real and the setting of Northern Ireland in the 80s fascinating and shocking at once. Recommended!

I enjoyed this collection as much as the one with male contributors. It introduced me to many new poets and their work and I was moved by many of the personal stories associated with each work. This is a great anthology for people like me know don't read much poetry, but when they do, enjoy variety and are looking to discover new writers as well.
