This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly meme hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I FINALLY finished The Escape Room by Megan Goldin. I can't even explain why it took me seemingly forever to get through this book. It wasn't boring, but the pace wasn't as fast, nor the story or characters as absorbing as I had hoped. I wanted to love this as much as other readers, who say they couldn't put it down. However, I could put it down, as it happens, and so my rating would be a rather forgettable three stars, I'm sorry to say. You can find my review here.

NOW: Currently, I am reading March Violets by Philip Kerr, which is getting off to a strong start. The book is very atmospheric and the protagonist, Bernie Gunther, is quite a memorable character!

NEXT: I might read Dead Woman Walking by Sharon Bolton next. She always writes such creepy, well-plotted mysteries and I'm hoping this one will be no different.
