This list on CrimeReads assigns superlatives to some of this year's mysteries and thrillers. Do you agree?
The Merriam-Webster word of the year is justice, and I can't say it comes as a great surprise. I was curious to see some of the others chosen, like nationalism, respect and more amusingly feckless and pissant.
I have gone maximum nerd now, here's a pretty impressive way to track your reading next year. I'm not sure I'll use this myself, Goodreads works well enough, but if you're especially serious about keeping track of your reading, here's your chance!
We tend to be rather negative about the influences of social media, but this was an interesting article discussing the way bookstagrammers are drawing attention to indie bookstore and helping keep them alive.
Bookriot examines what male authors get wrong about writing teenage girls, and though I do not disagree with the argument, I think female writers often write bad teenage boys, too, though never having been one, I cannot offer expert commentary;-)
