It's Friday, which means it's time for Link Love, where I share some of my favorite bookish articles and blogs from the past week. There are quite a few links I found interesting and worth sharing this week. I hope you find something here you enjoy. Happy reading!
The Lit Hub has rounded up some of the most exciting new books coming this month. On my to-read list are Melmoth, The Witch Elm and Bitter Orange.
Bookriot, too, offers a list of the best suspense novels of the year. I've read a few and would recommend Something in the Water and Anatomy of a Scandal. I am also looking forward to reading Social Creature, The Widows of Malabar Hill and A Necessary Evil soon! Have you read any of these? Which books would you add to the list?
This isn't wholly bookish news, though it does come from the Library of Congress, which has opened up its National Screening Room for the viewing of historical films! The library itself is beautiful and well worth a visit, and I imagine it would be a rather memorable experience to see a film there as well.
I came across this interesting interview with Ian Rankin. He discusses his new novel, but also the very premise of crime fiction - the question what people are capable of doing to one another.
Finally, one last list, this one from CrimeReads, which highlights some of the best political scandal thrillers. Though I know the truth at the moment is, quite frankly, stranger than fiction...
