This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a weekly meme hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I finished The Day of the Dead by Nicci French. It's the final book in the Frieda Klein mysteries, and without giving anything away, I found it to be one of the best in the series! You can find my review here.

NOW: I'm currently halfway through Our House by Louise Candlish. I was really looking forward to this one, but so far it's quite slow and a bit too repetitive. I think it could easily have been pared down by 100 pages. Keep an eye out for a review when I'm done, hopefully by then it will have picked up a bit:-)

NEXT: Next, I think I will break my genre loyalties for The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty. I've had my eye on this book for a while, and am very curious how it will live up to expectations. It's set in a magical version of 18th century Cairo, which sounds like a fantastic setting! Have you read it or any of these books? What did you think?
