Today I am excited to join the blog tour for Jess Ryder's latest thriller, The Ex-Wife. It's a twisty, clever story with engaging characters and a creative plot!
You’ve got everything she wants … Newly married Natasha has the perfect house, a loving husband and a beautiful little girl called Emily. She’d have it all if it wasn’t for Jen, her husband’s ex-wife who just won’t leave them alone … Then Natasha returns home one day to find her husband and Emily gone without trace. Desperate to get her daughter back, Natasha will do anything even if it means accepting an offer of help from Jen. But can she trust her? And do either of them really know the man they married? If you loved The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl or The Couple Next Door then this dark, twisting psychological thriller from Amazon chart bestseller Jess Ryder is guaranteed to have you gripped.

My Review:
4****
The Ex-Wife was my first book by Jess Ryder, but having read it, I would be happy to read more of her books! The story immediately grabbed my attention, beginning in a strange scene in a hospital with a woman called Anna, then flashing between the current wife, Natasha, and the ex-wife, Jen. It kept me wondering who Anna was. Natasha is married to Nick, but Jen keeps interfering with their lives. Then, when Nick packs up and takes his and Natasha's daughter one day, Natasha turns to Jen for help. I don't want to give away any of the plot that would spoil the story, so I'll stop here, but I can tell you, I kept eagerly turning the paging, anxious to know what happened and also how the prologue would tie into the main story. The writing was very readable and the story interesting and engaging from beginning to end. The fact that it is told from multiple viewpoints adds even more mystery, because I wasn't sure who could be trusted and which account to believe. There are plenty of twists and turns and the ending was satisfying and quite clever. Recommended!
