It's Friday, which means it's time for Link Love, where I share some of my favorite bookish articles and blogs from the past week. Happy reading!
In recent years, I have notice a great number of films I see are actually adaptations of novels. Maybe it's always been like this, but I am only noticing it now:-) In any case, it looks like there is quite a line-up of interesting adaptations for the following months. I am especially looking forward to The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and the new version of Howard's End, as mentioned in this article. Which of these do you plan to see? Of which have you read the books?
I don't really need a book to give me wanderlust, but I do enjoy a spot of armchair travel, and this list on Buzzfeed definitely had me adding to my mountain of a to-read pile.
I enjoyed this article, which tackled the idea of real romantic partners not quite matching up to fictionalized ideals or sharing literary obsessions.
Ron Charles has been a reviewer for the Washington Post for some time, and his reviews, I have found, are both fair and witty and I enjoy reading them (as well as his pithy tweets). Here, the Literary Hub interviews him about his favorite books, criticism and social media.
Have you been following any of this year's (or rather last year's) literary prizes? I hear about longlists and shortlists and rarely investigate further, because I have found I am often disappointed by the books lauded by critics in this way.
