This Week in Books

This Week in Books is a fun meme hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I finished The Dark Angel by Elly Griffiths. This was a book I had been looking forward to for months, and for the most part, it was good, certainly very readable, but something happened in the final third which really upset me, so I felt a little (or possibly a lot) disappointed by the end. You can find a more detailed, if slightly cryptic (no spoilers!) review here.

NOW: I am finally reading Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. I have owned a copy of this book almost since it came out in 2014, but it sounded (and is) so somber, I wasn't too keen to start it. Also, the cover is so very dull. That being said, I'm about halfway and the writing is very good. If you don't tend to like literary fiction, this won't be for you, but I think it will end up being a solid four star read for me. Have you read it? What did you think?

NEXT: The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton is next up on my to-read list, though to be honest, that could change very quickly. You don't want to see the pile of books I borrowed from the library... That being said, I have heard very good things about this book, plus that cover is so pretty, so I might be true to my word;-)
