Blog Tour: All the Fun at the Fair by Lynda Page

Today is my turn on the All the Fun of the Fair by Lynda Page Blog Tour. The author agreed to sit down and answer a few questions about her latest book and writing process. Hope you enjoy!

What initially got you interested in writing?

At the age of 37 my best friend insisted I accompany her to night school to do an 'O' level in English. Amongst the course work we had to do some short stories. I had never written anything literary before and was surprised how much I enjoyed writing those stories. Amongst them was one about a five year old boy's second day in school at the turn of the century and no more than five paragraphs long, but which eventually turned into the novel Annie.

What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?

To feel that they have been on a roller coaster ride of a journey in worlds they wouldn't otherwise have experienced and both satisfied and bereft when the journey has ended.

What do you find most rewarding about writing?

Hearing from readers of the pleasure they have derived through reading my books makes all the long hours of hard work writing them so worthwhile.

Can you tell us what about the greatest challenges of writing for you?

Continually coming up with fresh ideas that I haven't done before and after 34 books this is getting extremely hard.

What type of books do you enjoy reading?

Easy to read but riveting crime thrillers by the likes of David Baldacci, Harlan Coben, Agatha Christie, Joy Ellis. At the moment I am finding it extremely difficult to put down 'I Let You Go' by Clare Macintosh.

What is your next project?

The next in the series of All The Fun of The Fair. At the moment I am a quarter the way through it. Continuing to follow the lives of the Grundy family as they labour hard to keep the family fair business successful in the 1950's and deal with all the fun as well as catastrophes that come their way through old adversaries and new ones.

Thanks for answering my questions, Lynda, and best of luck!
