Nine 2018 Book Club Picks

Do you belong to a book club? I do, but I have to admit, we rarely read books I particularly enjoy:-/ That being said, I do read a lot of book independently of the club, and constantly come across ones I think would be so much fun to discuss in a group.
So I've rounded up ten books that would be perfect book club reads this year. They are all page turners with plenty of twists and turns to discuss. Happy reading!
This is a clever, fast-paced mystery and definitely offers plenty to discuss.

This book has convinced me to read for YA fantasy again. Smart characters, strong writing and excellent world building. I have already checked out a few of the author's other books from the library!

I just finished this book, and it was both gripping and very timely. There was a lot of hyper surrounding it, but I would say it was warranted.

This was my second book by Jane Fallon, and while it's a little predictable, it's still smart and sassy chick-lit, perfect as a book club read.
Another hyped-up thriller worth the fuss. This is a slow burn, but quite clever with a strong protagonist and a creepy twist at the end.

Robotham is a crime fiction author a cut above many others. He is a legitimately good writer and the gripping plot of this novel made it one of my favorite mysteries at the end of last year.
This book was another favorite last year, and based on a true story it is a must-read for historical fiction fans. There is so much to talk about, I wish I had read this for a book club!
I have been a fan of Lisa Jewell for some time, and her latest book did not disappoint. She used to write more typical chick-lit in the vein of Sophie Kinsella, but has shifted into crime fiction and she does it really well, too.
Robert Harris is one of the best writers of historical fiction I have come across, and Munich is another winner. It tells a story at a critical point in history and it really makes you think "what if?" Not only a good book, but a story absolutely worth discussing.
