Best Things I Watched and Read in 2017

“The list could surely go on, and there is nothing more wonderful than a list, instrument of wondrous hypotyposis.” ― Umberto Eco, The Name of the Rose
I know I have been inundating you with "Best of 2017" lists in my weekly Link Love posts for weeks now, and I hope you spotted some of your favorites on a few of them. For me this year was a bit of a roller-coaster of highs and lows in terms of my reading. A few incredible books that will stay with me for some time to come, some truly awful ones, and A LOT in between. I find that, as I read more and more, I have become harder to please. Mysteries and thrillers often don't achieve the desired result and frequently have me guessing the ending half-way through, women's fiction can feel to fluffy and predictable and literary fiction, at times, too pretentious. That being said, I was lucky to have read a few truly remarkable stories this year and I hope you were, too. I've decided to include a few of my favorite TV series and films in this year's round-up, and am always eager to hear recommendations, so if there was something you loved reading or watching this year, drop a line in the comments:-) Without further ado, here is my list of favorites from 2017.
