Bookriot has rounded up a number of magical locations for avid Harry Potter fans around Scotland and England. Time for some day-dreaming:-)
Anne Bogel at Modern Mrs. Darcy just did a post about her favorite Jane Austen retellings. I am picky when it comes to new takes on my favorite classics, but she has listed a few good ones here and some I have not read but would like to, like Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld.
Just in time for holiday shopping, Purewow Books has published a fun list of gifts for book lover. Time to throw around some not-so-subtle hints, bookworms!
Continuing with a holiday theme, they also offer some recommendations for short books to read over Thanksgiving, if you need to snatch a few moments of peace and quiet:-) Exit West and A Christmas Carol get my vote. Happy Holidays!
Amazon has acquired the rights to bring The Lord of the Rings to TV, and though it's not certain yet, I imagine they wouldn't make the investment if they didn't expect the project to go through. I feel rather protective of the original trilogy of films and am not sure I like the thought of it being turned into a TV series now. NPR has a few humorous thoughts how the project might progress...
