Weekly Wrap-Up

I'm baaack! Sorry to skip last week's wrap-up, but I was traveling. I spent a few days in Lisbon, which was my first time in the city. I didn't know what to expect, really, but was very pleasantly surprised. The people were friendly, the food good, everything reasonably priced and loads to see and do. I would definitely go back. I was also in Milan and Florence, both of which I had visited before, but enjoyed again this time around:-) What have you been up to this summer?
Naturally, with a lot of sitting in planes, trains and automobiles comes a fair bit of reading time. I finished Daniel Silva's latest book (number 17!) in his Gabriel Allon series, House of Spies. This was a better addition than the last two, and I found it hard to put down (or rather. to stop listening, as I got the audiobook). If you are new to this series, I would recommend you read them in chronological order.
I also finished Cath Staincliffe's The Silence Between Breaths. It tells the story of a terrorist attack and its before and after, and was really thoughtfully written, and sadly, a rather timely story. Recommended! I started Mark Edward's latest book, The Lucky Ones and the newest addition in the Frieda Klein series by Nicci French, Sunday Morning Coming Down.
Finally, The Princess and the Pen featured my regular Mystery Monday, where I highlight three mystery novels I want to read. For the first time, I also included a new feature, Link Love, where I share some of my favorite bookish articles I came across that week. Lastly, you can find my review of Karl Ove Knausgaard's book My Struggle: Book One here.
