I read so many book-related articles, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites from this week here. Some of my favorite sources for bookish reads are Bookriot, The Guardian Books, Literary Hub, Off the Shelf, and The Brit Lit Blog.

This week Bookriot published an interesting article offering some alternatives to Karl Ove Knausgaard. If you are unfamiliar with this mouthful of a name, you can check him out here. I read the first book in his six part autobiographical series, and though I found him to be a compelling writer, I was also slightly put off by certain aspects of his character, which he lays bare quite brazenly, and perhaps bravely. I intend to read the other books, too, but found this article interesting and the recommendations offered worth looking up.
Off the Shelf always offers fun lists and great recommendations to suit all tastes. It is no secret that I am a huge fan of mysteries and suspense, so a list with 13 Best Suspense Novels by Women grabbed my attention. I have read a few on the list, and am definitely eager to add Don't Look Now by Daphne du Maurier to my to-read list.
Literary Hub had an interesting article about new book adaptions of Peter Pan, Vanity Fair and Little Women, all of which I am eager to see. I love a good adaptation, and the ones I have seen most recently have all been quite satisfying, even as a fan of the book.
Last but not least, I came across this lovely article which shows how Manchester has been dotted with book-shaped benches to encourage children to read. The idea is wonderful and the benches are beautiful, too. I have seen similar ones in London, and though I am not sure they will necessarily compel children to read, they are certainly an aesthetically pleasing reminder that books have a permanent role in our society.
