This Week in Books
This Week in Books is a fun meme hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?
THEN: I just finished Carol Mason's After You Left. It was a solid read, even if I came away from it feeling it would probably end up being a little forgettable. You can find my mini-review here or here.
NOW: I was going to read Megan Whalen Turner's Thick as Thieves after finishing The Wrath and the Dawn, but it ended on sort of a cliffhanger and I just had to know what happens next, so here I am reading the sequel:-) The Rose and the Dagger picks up right where the previous book left off, and it's just as fast-paced and intriguing. My only issue is with the insta-love and the fact that I do not much like Khalid (the love interest). Still, it's compulsively readable and I wish there were more in the series already!
LATER: Early this year I read Sofia Khan is Not Obliged by Ayisha Malik for the Poppy Loves Books Club. It was a fun, clever Bridget Jones-ey story from the perspective of a young Muslim woman in London. The sequel, The Other Side of Happiness, has just been published and I'm eager to see how Sofia's story continues.
