Mystery Monday
This is the third week of Mystery Monday, a new feature on The Princess and the Pen, where I highlight a few mystery novels on my radar. I come across so many mysteries on Goodreads, from social media and word-of-mouth recommendations and Mystery Monday will feature a small selection of those. Some will be debut authors, others well-established. One thing they will all have in common, though, is that they will probably make my to-read mountain topple over!
If you would like to participate in Mystery Monday on your blog, feel free to use the image and please link back to The Princess and the Pen:-)
Happy Reading!
First up we have The Killer on the Wall by Emma Kavanagh. I've read a few books by this author, and they usually deliver, so I'm really looking forward to this latest one, which was published last week.

It won't come as a surprise that I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on a copy of Angela Marsons' latest book in the DI Kim Stone Series. They are always such page turners! Dead Souls will be released April 28, 2017.
Blurb:
"The truth was dead and buried…until now. When a collection of human bones is unearthed during a routine archaeological dig, a Black Country field suddenly becomes a complex crime scene for Detective Kim Stone. As the bones are sorted, it becomes clear that the grave contains more than one victim. The bodies hint at unimaginable horror, bearing the markings of bullet holes and animal traps. Forced to work alongside Detective Travis, with whom she shares a troubled past, Kim begins to uncover a dark secretive relationship between the families who own the land in which the bodies were found. But while Kim is immersed in one of the most complicated investigations she’s ever led, her team are caught up in a spate of sickening hate crimes. Kim is close to revealing the truth behind the murders, yet soon finds one of her own is in jeopardy - and the clock is ticking. Can she solve the case and save them from grave danger – before it’s too late? "
Death in Kashmir by M.M. Kaye is the final book in this week's roundup. I haven't read anything by Kaye before, but I do enjoy a good Golden Age mystery and this sounds like a fun caper with an intriguing setting thrown into the mix. Has anyone read this author before? I have to admit, I hadn't heard of her until someone recommended this series to me on Goodreads.
Blurb:
"Written by celebrated author M. M. Kaye, Death in Kashmir is a wonderfully evocative mystery ...When young Sarah Parrish takes a skiing vacation to Gulmarg, a resort nestled in the mountains above the fabled Vale of Kashmir, she anticipates an entertaining but uneventful stay. But when she discovers that the deaths of two in her party are the result of foul play, she finds herself entrusted with a mission of unforeseen importance. And when she leaves the ski slopes for the Waterwitch, a private houseboat on the placid shores of the Dal Lake near Srinagar, she discovers to her horror that the killer will stop at nothing to prevent Sarah from piecing the puzzle together.
